Ampersand Variations
Desire Lines
les lignes de désir
Desire Lines, developed as part of Esch2022 - European Capital of Culture, is a transdisciplinary project combining documentary and fiction.
Produced by Luxembourg collective Ampersand Variations with local participants, the project explores desire lines – the paths organically created by humans and animals in search of shortcuts – through interviews, sound recordings, workshops and site-specific performances featuring theater, live music, circus and parkour.
Drawing on participatory research, Desire Lines facilitates dialogue and collaboration, integrating the stories and experiences of locals, who become co-authors and active participants. The project invites us to reconsider our relationship with our inner and outer landscapes.
